Congratulations to @nowsewwhat (Angela) for her win with the beautiful image of her daughter’s face over a backdrop of BFP samples. Angela wins our first prize of a $100 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop (FQS).
It was a VERY tight race, at one point today there were only 4 votes between the top two quilts. Our runner up is @46thavequilts. Her combo of curved piecing and Tula Pink fabric gave a gorgeous traditional take on this project. This contest was only announced with one prize, however the race was SO close Denise will be getting a runner up prize of a $75 gift certificate, also to FQS.
There’s one more surprise – “Judges Award”. Congrats to @Lauraannterp for making a quilt that I personally thought had a simplicity that really made it shine with a hand stitched flower motif. Congrats Laura! The judges award prize is a $25 gift certificate to FQS.
All in all, this contest was fantastic. There will be more to come, for sure. I have learned a lot with this, and still have a few tests on fabric to wrap up – but check back here in a few weeks for news of what’s next. I’ll be launching a crumb project hopefully in mid April.
And a last huge THANK YOU to everyone that took part, voted, and read the blogs, and made this happen.
It was fun to see these quilts!! May I please give one “helpful”(I hope) hint. Many people missed the submit button. So their votes may not have counted. Would it be possible to color the button green so it stands out as a “go” ?
That’s a great suggestion – for future forms I’ll try to make it more obvious. Thank you!
